Not only did I finish SWANN’S WAY and figure out hardboiled eggs, but I also landed on the best working schedule since I wrote my first book 12 years ago. Unsurprisingly, it’s the same schedule as 12 years ago and it only took me 12 years to find my way back to it.
Like a Rolling Stone – Cat Power
Amazing performance from her latest album. Have to pick this one up: the Royal Albert Hall Concert is one of my favorite performances and moments in music history and hearing Cat Power work her magic on it is revelatory.
Swapping up my schedule a bit. NuHerbie and I will be here, just a little later than previous normal. Change is afoot, in a good way.
The Necks (TRAVEL) are on the HpMini and I'm back, in earnest, to The Work – though with the added fuckyouness of still being vertical after my greatest fear (my grandfather's death and funeral) came and went: for the first time in my life, I genuinely feel that I don't have a thing to prove; I simply get to be me – whomever that is – though I would give anything to still have him here. But that’s not how life works.
