KirbyCam MetalVoice

Addition of the KirbyCam to keep an eye on him when he's not in the Sanctum with me proving useful, even if that utility lies only in not having to interrupt my work to run from room to room every time I hear either a sound or a silence. (That I can talk to him through it (in a weird, metallic voice) and really screw things up is but the proverbial amusing icing on the amusing cake.)

Continuing efforts to streamline workload so as to focus on the things that truly matter / things that I enjoy: grand being the writer full-time yesterday. Love doing TSR, but I haven't had the full-time writer day in months. And I could tell – no amount of pharmaceutical intervention can amerliorate a lack of writing.

Broken record, perhaps, but fuckit: so much of adapting to my zettelhybrid method – and it is helping, it IS opening up new avenues of thought – is getting used to working in the chaos. Requires a certain patience and faith (in process) that, when the time is right for the honing and the detail work, that I'll be able to dive in with a singular, small assignment focus.

In local news, a second county school district has added a mask mandate because, gasp, they actually keep cases to a minimum; county fair week surge yet to show up in plaguenumbers.

Spent much of the afternoon learning how to write the narrative non-fic/comics thing. Figuring out the process, breaking apart old versions into new, fragmented pieces - remembering things (few pleasant). That said, I do think there's something there, something to this. No clue what - but there is something.

Squeaky Franken-systems

Kirby is squeaking his squeaky ball in my ear: this is the way.

More metabolic blood has been drawn and, finally, the month-later weekly project file review is complete. Never underestimate how good that feels and the weight it lifts.

Obsidian/etc systems organization process continues but I'm finally shaping – through much trial and much error – Obsidian into the best representation of how I think (now, and perhaps previous). The capacity of Obsidian to be personalized continues to amaze: while I like parts of different systems – zettelkasten, etc - I find limiting myself to one is too, well, limiting; I prefer to synthesize my own Frankenstein monster from the scraps of other systems based upon my thought processing needs at the present moment with the sole overarching criterion being that it empties my brain each day to let the new in, to give problems the space to work themselves out in the subconscious before the next workblock/workday

(The knowledge of Obsidian's boundless adaptability is as important to me as the future-proofing of writing in Markdown/text files.)

Meanwhile, in local news: shock of shocks as state Republicans approve redisticting map that continues their stranglehold on statewide power. The Idiocracy remains.

On with the day.
