wisteria transplant, update
The wisteria transplant project AKA the “move the wisteria so Tyler doesn’t have to climb on the roof to perform surgery to remove said wisteria from power and cable lines every three weeks because you said the blooms were so pretty but I haven’t seen the blooms in the ten years I’ve lived here because it’s under too much shade don’t electrocute me” project is a success!
After several weeks in its new home along the pergola, the transplanted wisteria has taken root and seems ready to start its climb. Goal is that the whole pergola will be covered and I won't have to take it apart to repaint it to reassemble it. Other goal: make things pretty – with 99.98% less chance of electrocution.
POWERWASH SIMULATOR(!)
Started playing this last night and it’s my current favorite thing, a merciful rain of calm amidst the post HALO INFINITE and FORZA HORIZON 5 GamePass dry spell (though GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY was 🔥🔥🔥). Just don’t look at the sun.

of random randomness
For some reason or another, randomness has become the driving factor of more than a few of my once-sacrosanct and prescribed habits and routines: started using Downward Dog and its randomizing of randomness to mix up the yoga routine and their HIIT programs to vary that part of the daily exertions (the running route has stayed, largely, the same); I've become a junkie for iOS randomizer shortcuts and widgets, especially for Pinboard (while there is one in the Pinner app that I use, it still shows the title of the post in the widget – I'm anal enough that I want one that is just a button that I can press and it opens a random one without telling me what it is is; I'm trying to reverse engineer an Instapaper randomizer to work with PB by my shortcut creation acumen is minimal at best); I've come to love the random note feature in Obsidian; and I'm sure more will pop up eventually.
Telling myself it's representative of me ceding efforts to control things and letting my OCD sputter into nothingness but who knows it could just be another temporary fascination.
dogchildren on a pool table
From last night’s visit to my grandfather. The little ones get to climb on the dinner table after dinner (a bad habit, but fuck it) and away from Kirby. Kirby got jealous, and, as the dinner table is too small for him (though he thinks he’s no bigger than the girls), I let him up on the pool table. It was more his size; enthusiasm thus ensued.
(You’re welcome.)
