Day one of window project is complete. New window is in and dogs are generally contained. Presently fighting with the shelf above the side door which is getting replaced (the door, not the shelf - but I won't be surprised if my efforts in removing it require replacement of the shelf: oh, how I love painted-sealed screws). Glass blocks not in place so I've improvised another failsafe window until they can be. Yet to break out in poison ivy: would be the first time in 42 years if I do. Trim and seal and door and glass blocks tomorrow, apparently.

BASIC INSTINCT: the comic (?)

Simultaneously skeptical and intrigued; Vanessa R. Del Ray's art, however, looks amazing. Might have to check this one out and see if the former or latter was correct…

Sumerian is teaming with Cuban illustrator Vanesa R. Del Rey to create the first comic book series based on the movie, which starred Sharon Stone as enigmatic writer Catherine Tramell who becomes the prime suspect in a murder...

The series will follow an anonymous artist who draws inspiration from famous murders — their newest exhibit is inspired by Tramell’s “Icepick Murders.” When a security guard at the exhibition space is murdered on opening night, the art director responsible for the opening is thrust into an investigation that forces him to question his own involvement.

Construction guy is here: the ivy-shattered six-by-six display window has been removed and is in the process of being replaced with two smaller, more residential style windows as no one is selling paint in the Paintshop these days. Meanwhile, I've fought a battle against basement window poison ivy in preparation for their replacement with glass blocks which will hopefully be done before the major rain comes today. If not, I'll be spending my evening preventing basement flooding.

NADA ESCRITO – Dorotheo

Stunning melding of hauntology music (a music which I had long loved but never knew what it was called - nor was I aware of its fascinating history and retrofutrism influence), psychedelia, and Middle Eastern/Latin-American sonorities and rhythms. A new favorite.

Album cover: a shadow in the middle of a nebulous cloud / melting plastic?
