Giving a sort-of weeknotes thing instead of a daily word-commitment review, etc – a purpose previously held by the newsletter. Still prefer it to be a single piece about something, but not quite there yet. Maybe. Whenevers whatevers will continue to pop up, as will the usual thing around here. But I still want that word-commitment, so here we are.
The Greenhouse, Project Kreenhouse, has reached the point where there’s nothing more for me to do until it’s painted which isn’t my department (thankfully) but yeah: 13 days of building have finally brought Project Kreenhouse to a point where I’m comfortable crossing it off my projects list. And thus, my once-a-year wood-based project ends; my brain is in desperate need of creative, abstract, weird work. Apparently I refuel creatively by building sheds – or perhaps it’s the act of building something for someone, creative or not, that really does it for me.
In other news, the kitchen sink is unclogged – though not by my hand. I gave it eight hours on Wednesday and it won. Thankfully the drain guys came and felled it in about an hour. History of a house through kitchen drain sludge and muck.
Had to get a new iPhone too – which doesn’t excite me at all, though I’ll confess that I’m amused that that my 14 decided to stop taking a charge last night: the iPhone 18 Pros just came out, so I got one. Makes pretty pictures (that’s about all that intrigues me about the yearly regeneration cycle) and charges and does its Carplay thing, so I’m golden for another five years or however long this one lasts through the daily beatings it’s bound to take.
A victorious end to an exhausting week. The Shed is cleaned, a new project in its nascency. Had a rather delicious reuben for dinner tonight. The week ends / the week begins.
