COSMIC CRUISER – Geiger von Müller
New bit of brilliance from Geiger von Müller: always a pleasure to hear what new magic he’s cooked up. Lego rocket ships + slide guitar wizardry = definite EarBliss.

Purchased this small kid's Dick Tracy Two-Way Wrist Radio plastic toy (it's just a chunk of plastic, no workable radio bits) and have no clue of when it was released or what it's from. Had to be at least after 1946 (when the two-way first appeared in the strip) but beyond that I haven't a clue. Can't find it anywhere in Crouch and Doucet's AUTHORIZED GUIDE TO DICK TRACY COLLECTIBLES. Thoughts?
UPDATE/202309222028: huge thanks to Sean Kleefeld (of the essential Kleefeld on Comics blog) for finding that it is part of a 1950 badge/watch set from Gaylord. Mystery=solved.
UPDATE/202309221143: A double take of my collection of radio premium / detective club badges found that I also have the badge that came with the set…
Dig Matt's new employ quite a bit. Intriguing angle.
Kuder’s art is solid, but isn’t speaking to me yet.
A little rushed getting him back into (SPOILER)
First exposure to Elektra DD and I dig (missed the entirety of Zdarsky's run).
Want to know where Ahmed's going to take everything so I'll give it a few more issues, maybe the whole first arc, before deciding whether or not to continue. That being said, DD’s at its best when it rises above itself and acts as a vehicle for a unique vision– Miller, Bendis/Maleev, Waid/Martin/Samnee – and I’m not (yet) convinced that that’s the case here.
Appear to be in a phase where I prefer working in silence – even ambient is proving too much and, when I’m watching something, I prefer silent films. Maybe I'm listening for the staccato vibration with the next bit of unfuckening news and can't bring myself to turn on an alert tone because they all offend my delicate ears or maybe I'm just too bloody tired to compartmentalize my brain into listening and creating or maybe I'm out of patience with the fussy and pissy Wi-Fi connection between phone and Homepod (efforts to bring the turntable and vinyl back here have yet to bear fruit), IDK – but something has shifted: going to roll with it, however it plays out. Only EarBliss at present is silence.
Definite: BATMAN, W0RLDTR33, KILLMORE (brilliant first issue - reminds me of FELL), NIGHTWING (105 was a joyous celebration of everything comics should be), TITANS, BATMAN AND ROBIN (beautiful - if they strike this tone in THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD film, we’re in for something special).
Giving a few more issues: Marvel's DAREDEVIL, FANTASTIC FOUR, and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (will probably exit after this evil Spidey arc; I’m a sucker for the black costume), and DC's BIRDS OF PREY (loved the first issue), and THE PENGUIN.
Waiting to try: JMS's new CAPTAIN AMERICA series, and Tom King's WONDER WOMAN…
Wish: that the latest WEREWOLF BY NIGHT issue was more than a one-shot, because it could have been Marvel's JONAH HEX - so good and so beautiful.
