Giving evening postings, codas / shutdowns / whathaveyou a try. Tinkering as I feel like it throughout the day, any new works when they’re done, a picture to end the day.
As one of George Lawrence Stone’s STICK CONTROL exercises becomes, once again, the bane of my existence, I wonder if I’m at least partially using drumming as a means, the last means, perhaps, to right my creative path? The one that diverged when I moved to Boston and composition and finally felt right again when I found metalwork – which I’ve called, on more than one occasion, the closest I’ve come to creative freedom since I played drums - in a shed 10 miles from where I grew up? Not really undoing, but merging the two bookends into a path forward? Make things with metal, play things with drums?
Finished MIDSOMMAR: dug it but didn't love it. Probably because I couldn't've cared less about any of the mains (the older I get, the harder a sell postgrads/students are for me), save Dani - though I suspect that the only reason I cared about Dani was because it was Florence Pugh. Still: glad I (finally) saw it and definitely want to check out Aster's other films, HEREDITARY especially.

Amused at why a bunch of game company stocks tanked today (and I took the opportunity to buy more).
Speaking of, I'm preparing for the end of RED DEAD REDEMPTION, my current playthrough so K can see it, RDR2 having been her gateway drug into the world of Marston, et al. Fuck you, Edgar Ross.
Fuck ICE.
RIP Catherine O'Hara.
Until tomorrow, then.
